HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TOUR
Throughout the day you’ll be escorted around the curving roads of the lush Yarra Valley, visiting no less than three wineries. We have selected three wineries which demonstrate excellence in wine tourism and each with their own international flair. Rochford Winery will astound with its many award-winning Aussie wines, from decadent cabernet sauvignons to crisp chardonnays and smooth pinots. Dominique Portet will showcase it’s traditional French style wines including stunning sparklings androsé .At Killara Estate Winery, we’ll finish the day with tasty antipasto plates, Italian inspired wines and some of the best views in the Yarra Valley.
Napoleone Cider House and Brewery
It’s not all about wine at Café Bus. At this rustic, inviting cider house, you’ll be served a decadent paddle of three ciders and an ale. If you haven’t given cider a go before, be prepared for tingling tastebuds. The Yarra Valley has been the home of cider since the 1900s, and the Napoleone family have been in the game for three generations. Using only premium estate-grown apples and pears, the ciders you’ll sample here are made onsite with 100% fresh juice. Nothing else, no concentrates, no additives, and they’re even gluten free!
Yarra Valley Chocolaterie
Indulge on free chocolate while you watch the Belgian and French chocolatiers
handcraft over 250 different chocolate and truffle varieties. You’re sure to walk away with something delicious from the ‘Great Wall of Chocolate’. The range of sweet treats includes chocolates infused with fruits and nuts from the Chocolaterie’s orchard of cherries, plums, apricots, citrus, almonds and more. And on a hot day, what could be better than luscious home-made ice cream?
French-inspired lunch at Dominique Portet Winery
As you approach the exquisite French décor of Dominique Portet Winery, you’ll be greeted warmly by this 10th generation wine making family. Their wines have a strong French influence and history and you’ll learn about that in the barrel room, while sipping on a few samples. Here you’ll also indulge in a French-inspired picnic-style lunch in the gardens or barrel room. And after lunch you could become the petanque (bocce) champion for the day and win a bottle of wine!
